Atheist Rear Ends
I thought that I would share an image of the rear of my vehicle and utility trailer. Click here for a larger view. The utility trailer has become a bit of a legend in the circle of artists in my industry. I've noticed several of them as well as several members of the general public snatching a photo with their digital cameras or cell phones. I feel lucky to work in an industry where this type of public statement is almost always met with a positive response.
By the way, this is the trailer that almost had my wife and I killed by a believer near Chattanooga, TN (see previous post).
I had never been a fan of bumper stickers, but after the 2000 elections, I felt I had to make a statement in any way possible. I would challenge all non-believers to 'show your colors', perhaps in a more understated way than I have to be sure.
Let's see some of your rear ends!

Some falsehoods in your bumper stickers :
* Jesus was definitely NOT a liberal. (you have obviously not read the Gospels)
* The US is NOT indivisible - in fact it seems to be eminently divisible right now.
* Closed mouths still vote.
I think the 'Jesus was a Liberal' is the bumper sticker that pisses off the fundamentalists the most. It is also unbelievably readable from long distances.
yeah your probably right. although i agree with the bumper sticker. francois, if you do a little historical referencing, to the Jews at the time, Jesus was a flaming Liberal. i also think the what would jesus bomb sticker is hilarious.
Q: do you think that when you putting those stickers on your trailer that you were hoping for a response? not that what the jackass did who tried to kill you and your wife was warrented at all, but you kinda put the there to piss people off right?

It isn't very hard to piss off religious right-wing nuts . The only vandalism that my wife and I have ever experienced was the removal of a Kerry sticker in Chattanooga. So simply saying that you supported John Kerry is going to piss these people off.
I am simply voicing my views in what I consider to be an amusing way. Most of the stickers are humorous or at least have some irony in them.
I honestly get more positive comments than negative. Most right-wing nuts are wimps when it comes to facing someone who is out in the open in their views. I have met so many wonderful liberals and atheists due to our rolling billboard, and that is much more important to me than just pissing off the wing-nuts.
I also think it is important that people realize that we (atheists) are out there. That's what this site is all about!
good to hear your comments about wimps, Alan, especially after your near accident. My van has the darwin fish, and I have been pleasantly surprised that it hasn't been keyed. Maybe I can branch out, I kinda like the white oval 'W04' replacement: 'WTF'.
Great bumper stickers Alan! My fiancee recently got a new car and we were weary about putting a bumper sticker that might invite a christian to key our car on it while we were living in Texas, but now that we're in Cali they would have to go around keying a lot of cars if they wanted to do something like that. I always enjoy seeing stickers such as yours while I'm on the road, and I never pass someone on the side of the road who needs help who has them.
It is possible that I have just been lucky in that my car has not been vandalized, but I am careful about where I park.
BTW, how do you like your saturn wagon? we are thinking about buying soon and i dont want another SUV to haul our instruments.

We like it. The only regret is that we got a 4-cylinder engine which is not nearly powerful enough to pull our trailer. I am sure I am going to cut the life of that engine by a huge amount, but not much we can do about it now. My wife refused to be seen in an SUV, so we had to get a wagon.
Definitely get a 6 cylinder.

Your moronic, idiotic and stupid comment made those bumper stickers worth every cent I paid. I had no idea they pissed off the christian nut jobs even online!
