The God Given Right To Persecute

This is a short post just to clarify a bit of Christian religious dogma. From my reading of the Bible and the teachings I heard as a former Christian, it seems clear that the Christian God directs his followers to routinely persecute, kill, maim, rape, torture and deny rights to various groups of people who he, for whatever reason, does not like.

If one of these persecuted (not yet killed) groups were to stand up and perhaps complain about being persecuted, raped, maimed, tortured or denied their basic civil rights, then are they not denying the Christian their right to worship and practice their religion? Are we not denying the Muslim fanatics their religious rights by preventing them from killing the 'Great Satan"?

I think I understand this eternal Christian victim status now. If they aren't actually being victimized, then denying them the right to victimize others is, in fact, victimizing them. Is that right?

Photo of Christians who have been victimized into determining the end of life choices of a woman. Note the particuarly 'love filled' messages on their signs and the poor children some whackos brought to this freak show. Gotta love the fat guy in the black shirt though. What a genius!

True identity of the fat guy:

Possibilities include:

1. He really is a infidel trying to mock his theist folks.

2. He thinks he is in an audit for American Idols, but his spelling is so bad, he can't differentiat "idol" for "idiot".

3. He really thinks everyone there is an idiot.

Oh yeah, he is definitely there in a sarcastic role. That image cracks me up every time I see it. The xians in it are rather scary though, particularly the idea of kids there. Shivers.

I sure as hekk wouldn't be counting on not gettin' whacked thanks to the kindness and tolerance of a bunch of yahoos with the "courage" to protest women in that emotionally distraught condition!

Alan,
I cannot quite follow this post. Can you give another example? (Like one from both points of view.) I get the Christians protesting right to die but can you share an example of God asking Christians to maim, kill, destroy, etc.

Thanks.

This site is a great resource for finding the less mentioned parts of the bible.

Well said!

Specifically about the post and not so much the kid in the picture, I don't think I've seen it broken down quite so well. The Bible is filled with atrocities upon atrocities. And you'll never see them quoted in a church sermon either...

Look at the girl in front of the big boy. I believe he is about to become one of the persecuted.

Yeah, that's one of the things I love about this photo. The whole idea is so clever and then there is so much going on in the shot. I had been looking for an excuse to put it up.

As Gary Larson once said, "Of course they are idiots! Still, the question remains, what kind of idiots are they?"
