"Allahu Akbar" - Run For Your Life!

Just a warning for those of you who, like me, see a different side of 'God's Greatness' on a regular basis. If a Muslim approaches you and says 'Allahu Akbar', I would suggest running for your fucking life. (Allahu Akbar translates to 'God Is Great')

If you remember, the 9-11 terrorist were chanting this as they crashed the planes in 2001, the many videos of beheadings all show the butchers chanting this slogan as they rip through the living tissue of their hostages and watch them slowly bleed to death.

And just yesterday in Iraq, one group of Muslim nut-bags set off a bomb outside the Mosque of another group of Muslim nut-bags killing 8 and wounding at least 21. But that isn't the end of the story. About an hour after the bombing, masked gunmen returned and executed bystanders who were still at the scene. They shot a woman in the head at point blank range with a pistol. Guess what the gunmen were chanting?

ALLAHU AKBAR !

The next time you hear someone refer to Islam as a religion of peace, do me a favor and greet them with an Allahu Akbar, and then punch them right in the face!

I don't have a comment on this post, per se, but I love your blog. Just where in the south are you from? I read something you wrote in response to a comment (somewhere hre on your blog - don't ask me to find it again) about having a bumper sticker stolen in Chattanooga. I'm in Nashville and have the same problem. I have had no less than 3 stickers stolen from my car in as many months.

In response to the criticism I've read from apparent xians on your blog, I have this response:

Why do you come visit these sites if not to criticize and deride atheists? We're not going to convince you that there is no god, and you're sure as hell not going to convince us there is, especially by preaching at us. The reason most atheists (especially in the US) focus on Christianity, and Islam thought to a lesser degree, is because these are the religions we are most familiar with. Most of us are, in fact, former Xians.

Thanks DeeDee,
I live NW of Atlanta and S of Chattanooga in NW Georgia. I have had my worst experiences with harassment in the Chattanooga area. Surprisingly, people in the small town where I live are fairly tame in comparison.

Thanks for the nice words.

Deedee, that is my point exactly! I have been recently harrassed on my blog and then that xian made two whole posts on his blog complete with links to my blog because he was upset that I kept deleting him! I don't go to xian blogs, he found me. Aren't I lucky? LOL! This person admits that he goes to harrass atheists to try to convert them. They just won't give up and leave people alone.

As for me deedee, now, i drop by alans blog to read. I consider alan an intelligent person with a knack for writing and an interesting and witty perspective. I disagree with alot of things but, the healthiest thing about debating or disagreement is learning a different perspective.

Honestly i think most Xians leave there nasty responses because they are battling an alter-ego. Unfortunately, the hostility that they feel towards themselves and alan is translated towards alan and others. But, from the ones I have participated, i wont pretend to have read all the discussions and posts, most of the conversations have been pretty civil, and learning experiences, at least on my end.

In comment about Alan's post, these are some scary times! We have lots of Muslims in Chicagoland. They have taken over whole neighborhoods. Many muslims have moved in across the street by my friend's in Chicago Ridge in these apartment buildings get all rowdy when things like this are happening and it makes her quite nervous and she doesn't go outside at night. This is a sort of expensive area but three or four families move into one building together and they have taken over the block. They park where they want, walk where they want, throw trash where they want. When I visit, I have seen them outside and the way they look at their white neighbors. They are not friendly and my friend has had damage to her property for asking them to please not block her driveway, and the police are always having to be called. After 9/11 they were outside in the street chanting "Allahu Akbar!" I worked in Bridgeview at the time of 9/11 and I was afraid to go to work because they all marching down a major 4-lane highway in celebration! And what is scary is that these people have infiltrated our society and we don't know the "peaceful" muslims from the radicals. How do we tell? So, we could very well be window shopping on a street in Chicago and have someone come up to us with a greeting of "Allahu Akbar!" Scary isn't it?

It's all so scary.
The article that Alan liked to is just crazy (and I know, just one of the dozens of articles reporting similar stories).
Stardust, your comment is just unbelieveable. To see them marching in the streets in celebration after 9/11 must have been terrifying.

Cassandra: The Muslim American Society is located in Bridgeview, IL and only a few blocks from where I worked and is about a 40 minute drive from where we live. Muslims are moving into our town more and more way out here 40 miles outside of Chicago. Several families live in one house sometimes. It worries me what would happen if they started doing here in the states what they are doing overseas because there are so many and so widespread. We can only hope that they are mostly peaceful like they say they are, and hope they like our capitalistic ways enough to keep them from uprising against us someday. I feel like we are vulnerable with so many being on the "inside".

Alan:

Nice new turban you have! Thank care the bomb in it doesn't fry your brains!

On a more serious note, I feel this issue has been blown out of proportion, and I have written my say on my blog.

Freedom of the Press is a good thing, and I don't see a problem with it.

Cheers

Mind if I link to your blog on my Yahoo group (Tennessee Atheists)? You're welcome to join, if you like.

Since we're already off topic: as a frequent visitor of Ethical Atheist Forum I am often attacked by Xeos (combination of Xian and zero). I came to the conclusion that they certainly do not follow the teaching of Christ (that fictional character) and use threats, ad hominum attacks and just abusive behavior because they know we can out-reason them in no time. I am even stalked on my own weblog. But I hardly ever see anything the other way around, atheists / agnostics trolling Xeos websites and forums, at least not with so much perseverance.
Why are Xeos so afraid of/for atheists? I wonder... do they know that their religion is just filled with emptiness?
