Muslim Furor Should Wake Up The Non-Religious
Just in case you have been living under a rock over the past week, the Islamic world is rioting over the depiction of their prophet, Mohhammad (Muhhammad, Mohammad, Muhhammmmeed, Mulhammett, Mushaaavvvittt, Mushevitz, Mullethead - Hell I don't know how to spell it!).
Being an atheist in the middle of the Bible Belt of America, I know how it feels to be pressured to conform to the whims of the religiously intolerant. The situation in the Islamic world should be a big fat wake-up call to all Americans and all Free People to the dangers of religious fundaMentalism and giving in to the demands of an ignorant and violent group of people.
Stand Up and defend your right to offend - to speak the truth and to choose what you respect and what you do not.

I affectionately call him Mahomet. :p
I had a professor named Dr. Muhammad. (She is a black woman turned Muslim who named herself that.) Then there is Muhammad Ali (who named himself that). Apparently it is ok to name yourself Muhammad, Mohammad...Mahomet but not draw any pictures of what you think he looks like. What a whacky world!
