I Have Never Been More Proud To Be Godless
With the arrival of the latest hate-filled book by conservative icon/psycho, Ann Coulter, I have to breathe a great sigh of joy at holding beliefs that are so diametrically opposite to her ideas. I am Godless and proud, as I should be. If you are Godless, then you should give yourself a huge pat on the back.
It is amusing that she so desperately tries to label liberals as Godless - as if that were a bad thing! Of course the vast majority of liberals are not atheists and we all know that. However, her book and her insane rants will hopefully continue to aid the huge surge in non-belief that is currently underway in this country. It should certainly make anyone with any morality at all question support of the conservative agenda and the mind-numbing insanity that is religious belief and faith.
I am constantly amazed at the insanity that is spewed by the religous right wing nuts in this country, though I suppose I should not be. One only needs to look at the heroes of the American religious right to realize that a good and decent person should stand for opposite values than those that they espouse. Of course the so called liberal Christians will try to distance themselves - as apparently almost everyone is doing - from the mental case that is Ms Coulter, but her views are actually pretty well rooted in Christian doctrine and the history of countries that are run by Christianity (as she wishes our country to be.)
"Liberal Christians" constantly have to distance themselves from the religous leaders and cheerleaders of this country. Perhaps it is time that you 'liberal Christians' stopped running and started thinking. Jerry Falwell does not misquote the bible. Ann Coulter's anger and hatred of others should be expected from someone who really believes what the bible teaches. The idea that the bible teaches tolerance or understanding is simply a lie. It is a lie. Ann is right. Jerry is right. You liberal Christians are wrong. Quit trying to rewrite your holy book to suit modern ideas of decency, civility and reason. Quit running from the 'truth' that your holy book teaches. Realize that a peaceful, tolerant and hopeful future is not possible in the world of true believers and faith. Come to reason!
For the record, let me state quite clearly that if you could possibly support a person as deluded and hateful as Ann Coulter, then you are, in my opinion, a very sick person. If you are embarrassed or appalled by her, then consider pissing her off by becoming Godless like 17% of your fellow citizens.

Ann is full of fecal matter and will say anything to sell her books. I doubt she truly believes in anything except the almighty dollar.
I'm not sure where you get your numbers from but 17% of the country being atheist sounds kinda high for what I have observed. From what I have seen, it looks like Christianity is on the rise in this country. This is the problem as I see it.
Our world is headed for disaster by more than just religion. Overpopulation is at the core of all modern mans problems. From poisoning the air, oceans and earth, lack of fresh water, global warming, to relying on limited recourses for our survival, it all boils down to way too many people creating too big of a problem. Most intelligent people I know are not having kids because they have strong feelings that the shit is going to hit the fan very soon. I can't believe it when a couple has more than two kids. The brainwashed religious are having enormous amounts of kids and spreading there religious disease like a cancer that is out of control.

Ann Coulter is one of the most sick human beings on the planet. And the people who agree with her....yikes. When she was on Leno she said something to the effect that she "wears the hate of liberals as a badge of honor" or something like that, and the crowd cheered. I think things in this country are going to get much worse in the future. I think in the next decade or so we are going to have some events that warrant whole chapters in future high school history books.

I disagree beast. If I didn't know how hateful and ignorant she was I would think she was pretty plain, but certainly not beautiful. But with the knowledge of her personality and views, her appearance absolutely disgusts me. I certainly would not tap that.
Ah, I think she is just stirring the hornet's nest to get book sales. Preaching to the choir cause only people who agree with her would buy her books because she's so horribly insulting to anyone else. It's absolutly disgusting, really.
And if more atheists had the luxury of being open about our godlessness, I suppose a title like this wouldn't even be considered. Godless? Damn right, I'm godless. I'm a proud member of the reality-based community.
I see the Democrats falling all over themselves to look more Christian. I understand why they feel they must do this, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Anyway, allow me to share a little story of my own. I was at a lecture at university about evolution, and the good professor felt compelled to spend a few minutes justifying himself because in his experience something like 15 percent of students don't believe in evolution. (pretty good when you consider the level of ignorance throughout society, but still dismal when you consider that these were SCIENCE students) I'm not blaming him or anything, and I'm not mad at what he did. In fact, I probably would have done the same. What I am mad at is that university students - in this day and age - should have to be told that evolution is a scientific fact. As in, not "just a theory". Sad huh? (if evolution is "just a theory", what does that make religion?) We can sequence the genome of a human being, send people to the moon, build computers that can simulate meteor impacts, and yet (is this right? I think I read it from a respectable source) more Americans believe in angels than in evolution. I don't know what the figure is for Australia where I live, but it's perhaps not too far off that pathetic mark, given my experiences with people and their imbecility when it comes to science.
I really don't see anything terribly wrong about what she writes about. What she speaks is the truth and many of us want to believe otherwise. I haven't yet read this particular book but have heard much about it and I am excited to read it.
I myself an Ultra Conservative Christian Women feel that we need to bring those who have so unfortunately been pulled away in Satans palace and guide them in the path of the Lord.
If you have ever read the bible you will know what it feels like to suddenly "believe" how such an amazing man who was God's son died for all of our sins. Then he rises from his death. Push that into the backs of your minds a bit and see what happens.
You should focus your strengths on leading yourlelf and others in the rightous direction toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
